My Curriculum:
Study #1: Chess Fundamentals
Students learn essential concepts, principles, and strategies. The goal is for us to build a strong foundation of knowledge.
Study #2: Tactics
Students learn fundamental, intermediate, and advanced tactics. The goal is understanding all of the resources and attacks available during a game.
Study #3: Positional Chess
Students learn higher level concepts and principles, and will be challenged to think about the game in new ways.
Study #4: Two Powerful Openings as White
Students have the opportunity to learn one (or both) of the openings as White. I provide detailed gameplans for each opening, prepare for common responses played by opponents, and how to enter the middlegame with advantageous positions.
Study #5 and #6: Two Powerful Openings as Black
Students have the opportunity to learn two openings as Black. I provide detailed gameplans for each opening, prepare for common responses played by opponents, and how to enter the middlegame with advantageous positions.
The openings that students learn are openings that I play exclusively, and have seen great success at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
Study #7 and #8: Advanced Endgames
Students learn challenging endgame scenarios. Each scenario is designed with giving them opportunities to practice implementing endgame strategies. This is crucial in order to succeed at the intermediate level!
